McQuinn Center Research Associate and Division of Applied Social Sciences- University of Missouri doctoral student, Jason Entsminger, recently lead a workshop at the 2016 Cultivating Change Foundation Summit held in Sacramento, California, earlier in June. His workshop was entitled entitled “Sowing the Seeds of Change in the Social Sciences : Incorporating LGBTQ+ Identities into Research and Theory on Rural Environments and the Agrifood Industry”. The Summit’s agenda was filled with distinguished presenters, including the California State Secretary of Food and Agriculture; senior officials from the USDA, the White House, and Congress; academics from U.S. land-grant institutions; and leaders in non-profits and private enterprise in agriculture.
